FAQs About Products

Reflective Fabric

1. Are the reflective fabrics AZO-free?
Yes. We update our OEKO-TEX 100 certificates annually to make sure our reflective fabrics are AZO-free.

 

2.In case we want different widths of reflective fabric, can you cut it for us?
Yes. The full width of reflective fabric is around 140cm. We provide free cutting according to customers' requirements.

3.What certificates do you have?
Our products are certified by SATRA, CALCOAST, UL, SGS to meet the requirements of EN20471, ANSI107:2015, EN 469, NFPA 2112, NFPA 1971, etc.

 

4.Do you accept OEM or ODM? Can we print our logo on the reflective fabric?
Yes. We can do customized printing on the surface or back side of the reflective fabric.

 

5.Is reflective fabric washable?
Yes. Our reflective fabric is washable. Washing cycles of different products varies from 5 to over 100 times to meet different customers' requirements.We also have reflective fabric that can endure industrial wash and dry cleaning.

 

6.How do you define the washing cycles?
It means that after being washed for certain cycles according to international washing standards (ISO 6330 for home wash, ISO 3175 for dry cleaning and ISO 15797 for industrial wash), the reflective value is higher than 100 cd/(lux•m²) (measured from angle 5°12′).

 

7.What are the main requirements of EN20471 and ANSI 107 toward 
reflective fabric?
Requirements for reflective fabric mainly include reflective coefficient, physiological and washing performance.
1) When measured on new product at 5.0° entrance and 0.2°observation angles, reflective coefficient shall be greater than 330 cd/lx.m².
2) After exposure test like abrasion, flexing, folding at cold temperatures, rainfall etc. the retro reflection coefficient shall be greater than 100 cd/lx.m².
3) After at least 25 washes, the reflective coefficient shall be larger than 100 cd/lx.m².

 

8. If we want to change the base fabric of reflective fabric, can you customize for us? And what's the MOQ for that?
Yes. We'll test the base fabric see if it's suitable for coating. If the test results is ok. We can customize for you and the MOQ is 500 square meters.
 

Reflective Sheeting

1.How to measure the retroreflective coefficient of retro reflective materials?
To detect the retroreflective coefficient of different material grades, you need to use an authoritative retroreflectometer.
RoadVista’s retroreflectometers and light measurement instruments can be used to test traffic signs, road markings, delineators, sign sheeting, high visibility clothing, headlamps, automotive sensors, and roadway lighting.

 

2.How to chose reflective film?
Do you know how to choose a retro reflective film? Usually, we need to understand the traffic regulations of each country, the application scenario, and if you ​are a manufacturer, the processing process.

America according to DOT C2 standard, European Union according to ECE 104R standard, Middle East according to SASO 2913 standard, etc.

Microprismatic Series

1.What’s the thickness you have for reflective PVC sheeting?
Roadstar reflective PVC sheeting have various thickness, include 0.17mm, 0.19mm, 0.2mm, 0.21mm, 0.24mm, 0.3mm, etc.

 

2.What is microprismatic reflective PVC tape?
Roadstar microprismatic reflective PVC tape has various colors and paterns available, it provides high visibility for workers who can work at night or in low light condition. They are high-frequency welded tape with excellent waterproof and durability to keep the bright visibility in all weather conditions. Ideal for using on workwears, safety garments, bags, caps and accessories, etc.

 

3.What is the size for the reflective PVC tape?
Rodstar PVC tape can customized size as customized, our stardant size is 2.5cm x 50m, 5cm x 50m, 7.5cm x 50m, 10cm x50m per roll.

 

4.How to store the reflective pvc tape?
Reflective PVC tape should be stored in a well-ventilated, dry, and cool warehouse, with a storage temperature of 10-40°C and a relative humidity of less than 70%.

Reflective Flame Retardant Fabric Tape

1. What's the difference between cotton and aramid backing flame retardant reflective tape?
Cotton is treated by flame retardant agent, while aramid is innate flame retardant. Cotton backing is more economical compared with aramid one. Customers can choose according to their own requirements.


2. What certificates do you have for FR reflective tape?
Our flame resistant reflective tape is certified by SATRA, CALCOAST, AWTA, TEXTEST, UL, SGS to meet the requirements of EN20471, ANSI107:2015, CSA-Z96, EN 469, NFPA 701, NFPA 2112, NFPA 1971, EN 14116, ASTM F 1506 etc. Please contact our sales to send the certificates.

 

3. How is the washing performance of fire resistant reflective tape?
Our silver and warning FR reflective tape can be home washed (according to ISO 6330) or dry cleaned (according to ISO 3175) for over 50 cycles.

 

4. Can you provide perforated flame retardant reflective tape?
Yes. we can provide perforated FR reflective tape with or without sewing line. Please contact our sales for more details.

Reflective Spandex Fabric

1. What's the difference between spandex reflective fabric and thin spandex reflective fabric?
Normal spandex reflective fabric uses thicker spandex base fabric(around 200 gsm/m²), while thin spandex reflective fabric uses lighter base fabric (around 100 gsm/m²). The latter one is more suitable for outdoor outer-shell or running jackets.

 

2. Is the spandex reflective fabric two-way stretch or four-way stretch?
Roadstar standard spandex fabric is four-way stretch, we can also customize for you and change to your required base fabric.

 

3. What's the composition of spandex base fabric?
Spandex base fabric is composed of 86% polyester and 14% spandex. In case you want to change to different composition, we can also customize for you.

 

4. Can I order colored spandex reflective fabric?
Yes. We can customize color spandex reflective fabric for you. Please provide the Pantone No. of your wanted color, and we'll make small swatches for color confirmation before mass production.
 

Reflective Ribbon

1. Can we customize different webbing colors?
Yes. We keep in stock the regular colors like fluorescent yellow, orange, black etc. We can also customize different colors of webbing as per customers' requirements.

 

2. Can we customize different width of reflective webbing?
Yes, we can customize different widths of reflective material and webbing as per customers' requirements.

Reflective Piping

1. What's the most regular specification for reflective piping, can we customize different width or cores?
Different customers will have their own requirements, and we can customize as per their requirements. The most common reflective piping is made of 1.3cm reflective fabric sewing on 1.7cm polyester fabric, with cotton cores inside.

 

2. What's the requirement of reflective fabric used on reflective piping?
Since Roadstar reflective piping is used for sewing on clothing which requires the reflective fabric to be slightly stretchable, otherwise, it will wrinkle after sewing on clothing. So the reflective fabric we are using is slightly elastic bias cutting one.

 

3. Can we order different colors of reflective piping?
Yes. You can send us your wanted colors, and our sales can check whether we have reflective fabric of the same color in stock, if not, we can customize for you this color reflective fabric, then make reflective piping accordingly. Below is the colors we have now.

Reflective Thread

1. What's the difference of reflective thread made of fabric and PET film?
Roadstar reflective thread made of PET film is suitable for knitted products with low requirement of tensile strength, and reflective yarn made of fabric has better tensile strength, but with a little big higher price.

 

2. What's the minimum width of reflective yarn you can provide?
We can cut the reflective fabric to as thin as 0.5mm, please contact our sales for more details.
 

Reflective Heat Transfer Tape

1. How to choose appropriate heat transfer film for my fabric? Is free sample available?
Yes. Roadstar can provide free samples for testing. If possible, we'd highly suggest customers to send the target fabric to our factory. Our technical person will try different heat transfer film on the fabric and do washing test after that, then we'll recommend you the appropriate heat transfer film with heat conditions, and send samples to you for testing.

 

2. Will you guide for us how to heat apply your heat transfer film?
Yes. We'll send you the operation guide, handling precautions and reason analysis to frequently occurred problems. Also in case of any questions during your sample testing, we'll ask our technical person to analyze and send you the solution report. We'll do everything to make sure you get the best heat condition before mass production.

 

3. How many kinds of reflective heat transfer films do you have altogether?
We have reflective heat transfer film targeting different base fabrics such as non-stretchable, stretchable, flame retardant, water repellent, industrial wash or PU fabrics etc. We also have heat transfer film specially made for engraving or laser cutting, and also multiple segmented reflective heat transfer films.

 

4. Can we order reflective heat transfer logos? Is free sample available?
Yes. We can customize reflective logos according to your artwork. We can provide several pieces of free samples for your reference.

 

5. What's the MOQ of reflective heat transfer logo?
We don't have specific MOQ for reflective logos. We can accept small quantity orders as well.

 

6. Can we customize different shapes of segmented reflective heat transfer film?
Yes. We can make molds according to your artwork and then do mass production.
